Enhanced Hiding — what it actually does
Passive (Assassin tier, Lv 10). After your Hide ends, you keep a hidden “ghost” hide-state for ~21s — meaning skills that require Hide to cast keep working even though you’re visible. Plus +20% MS while actually hidden.
⚠️ Correction (2026-05-02): Earlier drafts claimed Soul Breaker gets a “+100% damage / 3s stun from Hide” bonus. The user verified in-game: Soul Breaker has no Hide-state bonus. That claim came from web sources and is wrong. Below has been corrected.
The tooltip is ambiguous on purpose
In-game text reads (paraphrased): “After exiting Hide, hide-state skill effects remain valid for 21s; MS +20% while hidden.”
That sentence answers nothing concrete. The two real questions:
- What counts as a “hide-state skill effect”?
- Does the bonus persist after I’m visibly out of hiding, or only if I re-enter?
Below is the practical answer.
What it actually unlocks
The mechanic targets one category of skill on the assassin path:
Skills that require Hide to cast — without Enhanced Hiding, you must currently be invisible to press them. With Enhanced Hiding, the cast gate treats you as still-hidden for 21s after exit.
- Grimtooth (Assassin, Lv 10) — “Only usable from Hide; 75% chance to remain hidden after cast.” Without Enhanced Hiding, the moment Grimtooth fails its 75% re-hide roll, you can’t cast it again until you re-Hide (5s CD on Hide). With Enhanced Hiding you can keep mashing Grimtooth for the next 21s regardless.
- Back Sliding — enters Hide for 5s; combined with Enhanced Hiding this effectively means every Back Slide gives you a 21s ghost-hide window during which Grimtooth (and any other hide-gated skills) stays castable.
- Other hide-gated skills on the assassin path?
[VERIFY in-game — list any other skill whose tooltip says "must be hidden to use"]
What it does NOT do: it doesn’t grant damage bonuses to skills used from Hide, because no skill on the assassin path has a “from Hide” damage or status bonus — verified in-game 2026-05-02. (Soul Breaker, Sonic Blow, Cross Impact, Ghost Wave: none have a hide-state damage rider in their tooltips.) Enhanced Hiding is purely about removing the cast-gate.
⚠️ Not the same as Cloaking. Cloaking lets you move while invisible. Enhanced Hiding lets your skills behave as if invisible after you’ve stopped being invisible. They stack: Hide/Cloaking → cast hide-gated skill → exit → 21s of free hide-gated casting.
Why it matters
Without it, hide-gated skills are choked by Hide’s 5s cooldown. Cast Grimtooth, fail the 75% re-hide roll → wait 5s → Hide again → cast Grimtooth again. With Enhanced Hiding the cooldown effectively becomes “Grimtooth’s own skill delay” instead — for 21s of free casting.
For builds that don’t actually use Grimtooth (most modern SBC builds skip it), Enhanced Hiding is mostly the +20% MS while hidden QoL bonus and the prerequisite gate to other Assassin-tier passives. It’s not the rotation cornerstone earlier drafts of this note claimed.
Per-level scaling (duration)
Web sources for the Assassin/Stalker variant report Lv 5 ≈ 11s, Lv 10 = 21s
— suggesting +2s per level (9s + 2s × Lv). The +20% MS-while-hidden
component appears to be flat at all levels. [VERIFY in-game tooltip — confirm linear scaling and whether MS bonus scales]
| Level | Duration after exit (est.) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 11s |
| 5 | 19s |
| 10 | 21s (max — confirmed) |
Note: the linear interpolation above doesn’t fit
Lv 5 = 11s, Lv 10 = 21s. The actual curve may be9s + 2s × Lv(giving Lv5=19, Lv10=29 — wrong) or9s + 1.2s × Lv(Lv5=15, Lv10=21 — also wrong). Both anchor points are from different sources and one is likely stale. Trust in-game tooltip first.
Edge cases worth verifying in-game
- Does taking damage during the 21s window cancel it? Hide itself breaks
on hit-taken; the ghost window’s behavior is unclear.
[VERIFY] - Does exiting Hide via attacking (not skill cast) start the 21s timer the
same way?
[VERIFY] - Does the timer refresh on re-entering Hide, or stack/reset? Most likely
refresh-on-exit.
[VERIFY] - Does Hallucination Walk count as a hide-state for these checks? It
grants invisibility-adjacent effects but isn’t strictly Hide.
[VERIFY] - Are there hide-gated skills on the assassin path beyond Grimtooth?
[VERIFY by scanning skill tooltips for "must be in Hide" / "only usable while hidden"]
TL;DR
“Hide-state skill effects remain valid” = for 21 seconds after your Hide ends, the game still treats your cast-gate as if you were hidden, so hide-only skills (Grimtooth) keep firing without re-Hiding. There are no “from-Hide damage bonuses” on the assassin path — that was a wrong propagation from web sources. The skill is a Grimtooth/Hide-spam enabler
- a +20% MS-while-hidden QoL passive.

- 2026-05-02 — initial note from web research:
- WebSearch returns: “Enhanced Hiding (5) - allows you to use skills only usable in hiding for 11 seconds. After hide status is disabled/ended, hide-only skill effects can still be used (ambush double damage, raid increased damage, etc)” — the Ambush/Raid examples are Stalker/Rogue path; the assassin-path equivalent is Grimtooth.
